what i will do

  • Eliminate red tape and unnecessary procedures to make it easier to build, grow, and produce more of what we need.

    • Housing

      • Streamline the application process for state - level grants and program approval.

      • Speed up the permitting process.

      • Eliminate onerous zoning ordinances that increase costs to buyers and developers.

  • Build stronger cooperation between the state and local communities so that state initiatives have everyone’s support.

  • Foster greater economic competition by supporting local businesses, farmers, and cooperatives.

  • Increase state capacity to assist local governments with major projects through new programs like the Michigan Engineering Corp.

opportuNITY: more paths to the middle CLASS

Why it matters

Many Michiganders aren't able to find jobs that provide the security the middle class used to provide. We need to invest in our workforce and public education to ensure that our workers are well - equipped and well - placed to get good - paying jobs.

what i will do

  • Expand apprenticeship and work training programs to include construction, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare.

  • Ensure our public-school teachers are compensated fairly for the value they provide to our children.

  • Reduce class sizes in our public schools

  • Require up to 9 months of 100% paid parental leave to allow working parents welcoming the birth or adoption of a child to focus on caring for their child.

  • Promote the "Moving to Opportunity" program, allowing families to move to areas of greater opportunity.

  • Provide more affordable childcare options to ease the burden on working parents.

  • Invest in local public transportation networks to connect more residents to careers.

There are 700,000 Michiganders dealing with medical debt. The cost of an accident or unforeseen medical emergency can stretch already thin budgets and even lead to bankruptcy.

  • Advocate for comprehensive, universal healthcare coverage.

  • Expand access to healthcare services through investments in hospitals and healthcare networks.
