My Why
I'm running for state representative because I, personally, feel the struggles that face millions of Michiganders. I know the stress and frustration of rising grocery and utility prices. My wife and I have who can help us out with childcare; many other working parents aren't so lucky. During my six years of service in the Air Force, we had the peace of mind that medical emergencies would not drive us into debt. Two of my children were born under military insurance and we didn't pay a cent. Now, with private health insurance, we, like hundreds of thousands of Michiganders, face significant medical expenses.
I'm focused on lowering the cost of living for all Michiganders because that's what keeps my wife and I up at night, and I know that we aren't alone. I hear the difficulties rising costs are creating for West Michiganders, and I see it in the data: over 1.6 million Michigan households struggle to afford basic necessities.
The good news is that we don't have to live like this. We can choose a path of prosperity, opportunity, and progress that makes life more affordable for all Michiganders, delivers high-paying jobs, and ensures our children's futures are brighter than our present.

We have so much potential right here in Michigan. We have top-flight research universities, an outstanding work ethic, and abundant natural resources. But we are barely tapping into that potential.
It is possible for Michigan to put a roof over everyone's head; produce abundant, affordable energy; ensure that every child goes to bed with a full stomach of fresh, locally grown food; clean, quiet air free of the noise and byproducts of combustion engines; deliver fast, effective healthcare without out-of-pocket expenses; financial security and affordable childcare so that young couples who want children do not face financial obstacles to their decision.

Roughly 1.6 million Michigan households struggle to afford basic necessities: housing, food, energy, internet, transportation, healthcare, and childcare. To give these families more breathing room, I'm invested in policies that will lower the cost of basic necessities.

Many Michiganders feel the American Dream slipping away, but I'm optimistic that we can expand opportunities for a better life and more meaningful careers.
